Derby students were inspired by the prestigious Next Generation careers event at Ambrose Barlow School in Swinton. The event was designed to show case the amazing opportunities available to students in stunning array of creative careers.
The Derby attendees from years 9 and 10 began the session listening to TV pundit John Robb, Turner nominated artist Phil Collins and the CEO of Manchester Publicity Cindy Simmons. All of them outlined the life changing power of a creative career.
This was an opportunity not to be missed as the broadcast media represented by ITV gave tips for maximising chances of employment in the industry and the myriad roles available. MEN Media outlined the impact of the digital revolution on press environments. The exciting world of Games Design was outlined by Playground Squad Games Production. Brown Bag Animation spoke of the wonders of animation. BJL and Dinosaur enthusiastically extolled the virtues of a fantastic career in advertising and lastly the world of PR and marketing was demystified and students were given an extremely effective understanding of the industry by Toast Media and PRCA.
Students left with a wealth of understanding, fired up to be the next generation of talent.
