4 Derby students accompanied Mr Illsley to Bury Rugby Club to attend a kit designing workshop with Canterbury kit makers of New Zealand, as part of the All School Project. The project is targeted towards schools that don’t necessarily play rugby union as one of their major sports.
Several schools from all over the north-west attended the session where students got to work alongside professional designers to create and critique their own kit ideas. The group, which consisted of two year 11 and two year 9 pupils, worked really well together in a professional manner throughout the day as they brainstormed, analysed and designed their concepts.
The final kit designs will now be sent away to be manufactured by Canterbury as part of the project, and the school will receive 20 rugby shirts for our school rugby teams in February!
