A highlight of the week of events celebrating World Book Day is always our annual Book Factor. Talented teachers perform dramatic readings in front of judges and a captive audience. This year the competition was as fierce as ever, with Ms Clarke performing a reading from the ‘Gruffalo’, Mr Taylor with ‘The Cat in the Hat’ and Mrs Entwistle’s rendition of ‘101 Dalmatians’
All the contestants gave convincing performances with skilful variations in tone and pace, cleverly switching between different character’s voices. It was Mr Taylor who triumphed in the end with a special performance that combined circus skills such as juggling and balancing in a complete mesmerizing show.
All three contestants had shared their love of reading and it is important to model the joy that performing great stories brings to both performers and audience alike.
Mrs Forkin had arranged an array of events throughout this week to ensure that the Library showcased all that is great about the world of books.
